Course Description

The "Danish Maritime Legislation (DML), Ship Administration and Occupational Health (Section 16)” course for foreign Masters on Danish Flag Merchant ships covers the understanding of the relevant Danish Maritime Legislation, Masters administration duties and duties as a member of the Safety organisation, to promote, secure and maintain a good safe and healthy physical and mental working environment on board.



Course Objectives:
  • Locate the Legislations from the DMA website
  • Recognise the impacts of the Working Environment exposures on board
  • Identify the Roles and Responsibilities of the Safety Organisation
  • Recognise the salient points of the Danish Maritime Legislation on
    • Safety at Sea
    • Seafarers condition of Employment
    • Merchant Shipping Act
    • Manning of ships
    • Gender equality
    • Elections in Denmark (Advance Voting)
    • Reporting of Occupational accidents
