The "Occupational Health (Section 16)” course covers the Danish Maritime Authority Order on Safety Work and Occupational Health on Danish Flag Merchant ships, in order that the course participant, as a member of the safety group is able in co-operation with other crew members to promote, secure and maintain a good safe and healthy physical and mental working environment on board.
Course objectives:
- Locate the Legislations from the DMA website
- Recognise the impacts of the Working Environment exposures on board
- Identify the Roles and Responsibilities of the Safety Organisation
- Discuss the Safe practices in Handling Paints and Chemicals on board
- Recognise the importance of complying with Workplace Instructions
- Identifies the measures that need to be taken before one performs work on board ships
- Discuss the process of risk management and Incident investigation.
